About this file

Steamboat Rock State Park Shoreline Stabilization Final Drawings Summary

These are final design drawings for the Steamboat Rock State Park Shoreline Stabilization project located in Grant County, Washington, along Banks Lake in the Columbia Basin Project area. The project encompasses approximately 975 linear feet of shoreline protection and is prepared by the Bureau of Reclamation. The drawings, dated June 2025, include site maps, staging area layouts, compacted fill placement plans, void-filled riprap placement plans, cross-sections from station 0+00 to 9+66.36, and typical section details with notes.

The stabilization work consists of compacted fill placement on a 2:1 slope foundation, followed by 18-inch thick void-filled riprap placement with erosion control blanket protection. The riprap voids will be filled with topsoil to support revegetation with native planting plugs (Woods rose, Serviceberry, Chokecherry, Black hawthorn, and Blue elderberry) spaced at 3 feet on center. Project staging and loading areas total approximately 57,148 square feet of onsite workspace, with temporary areas protected by 4-foot orange safety fencing and permanent areas secured by 6-foot chain link fencing. The contractor must maintain public access to a portion of the existing boat ramp and dock at all times. All work aligns with ordinary high water elevation of 1570 feet and incorporates standard survey control points referenced to NAD 1983 State Plane coordinates.
