About this file

This document is Addendum #2 for Invitation to Bid (ITB#WRS/250473) issued by the City of Ocala, Florida, for the Recoating of Water Tower No. 2. The addendum provides detailed specifications for the recoating process, requiring bidders to adopt a comprehensive 5-step system for surface preparation and coating application. The steps include commercial blast cleaning (SSPC-SP6 NACE No. 3), applying a zinc-rich aromatic urethane primer, an intermediate polyamidoamine epoxy coat, an aliphatic polyurethane finish coat, and a fluoropolymer logo application. Each coating step has specific dry film thickness (DFT) requirements ranging from 1.5 to 6.0 mils.

The addendum mandates that bidders upload a Technical Data Sheet with product specifications and application information in the BIDDER REQUIREMENTS section. This requirement ensures that potential contractors provide detailed technical documentation about the materials and methods they will use for recoating the water tower, which is 146 feet tall and 35 feet in diameter, located at 6131 SW 80th Street in Ocala, Florida. The document is dated March 19, 2025, and is addressed to all bidders participating in the solicitation for this municipal infrastructure maintenance project.
