About this file
This is Addendum 1 for Invitation to Bid (ITB) 2025-0416 issued by the Melbourne Airport Authority for the Taxiway A Rehabilitation - Phase 2 project at Melbourne Orlando International Airport. The addendum, dated May 2, 2025, provides clarifications and responses to potential bidders' questions while maintaining the original bid due date of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST. Key clarifications include confirmation that FDOT certified Coquina Base will not be accepted, no grooving is required, the airport will provide lighted X's (with contractor responsible for maintenance), and glass beads will be required for temporary markings at half application.
The document includes technical details such as night work requirements within the Runway Safety Area (RSA) for specific phases, mandatory site visits, badging requirements, and a 10% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal. The project is federally funded, which triggers requirements like certified payrolls and Davis Bacon wage rates. The anticipated project schedule indicates a Notice to Proceed (NTP) in October 2025, with project commencement in December 2025, and a 60-day mobilization and logistics period. Additional requirements include a 5% bid bond, 100% Public Construction Bond upon award, and potential liquidated damages per phase.
