About this file
The provided documents are architectural and engineering drawings for the Idaho Springs Police Station renovation project, prepared by Dulaney Architecture and IMEG Consultants for the City of Idaho Springs, Colorado. The project involves converting an existing banking building located at 1744 Miner Street into a new police station, with a total addition of 1,089 square feet to the existing building footprint. The design includes a vehicle sallyport, various functional spaces such as administrative areas, evidence processing, training room, offices, restrooms, and support areas. The construction is estimated to commence in May 2025, utilizing a Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) approach with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) delivery method.
The comprehensive set of drawings includes detailed plans for site layout, demolition, foundation, roof, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The building will be constructed under the 2021 International Building Codes and will be a Type V-B construction classification. The total building area will be 3,851 square feet, with a building coverage of 27.3% of the site. The project incorporates various sustainable and functional design elements, including an emergency generator, solar panel provisions, energy-efficient heating systems (air source heat pumps), and comprehensive security and technology infrastructure. The site includes 11 total parking stalls, with one ADA-compliant stall and additional street parking available on Miner Street and Colorado Boulevard.
