SECTION 2: PROJECT SUMMARY
2.1 – Project Description
Project Status: Select whether your project/activity is an entirely new project or an extension of an existing project:
☒New CIO Project/Activity
☐ CIO Existing Project/Activity (Expansion/Change of Scope)
Project Description: Provide a description of the project including a justification for the project’s bona fide need in the space below:
Designing and conducting evaluation studies of eCR is critical to show the value of automating the existing burdensome public health reporting process and reducing the burden on healthcare organizations to report manually. This project will support public health agencies (PHAs) to define what type of evaluation is needed, determine design approach, develop evaluation instruments, conduct analyses, and prepare evaluation reports.
Activities: Describe activities to be carried out in this project as well as their associated deliverables:
Engage an evaluation subject matter expert with experience conducting evaluation studies for electronic case reporting.
Activities to be carried out include:
- Support ongoing CDC and CDCF matched pairs COVID-19 eCR evaluation study with the FL Department of Health to completion
- Extend COVID-19 matched pairs study to additional PHAs as requested
- Review and update eCR evaluation plan based on learnings from COVID-19 evaluation work
- Identify additional requirements and needed tools (collection instruments, guidance documents, technology solutions) to help extend evaluation work across PHAs.
- Work with PHAs identified as next evaluation study participants.
2.2 – Project Strategy and Outcomes Project Strategies: Select one or more strategies that the project will contribute towards:
☐S1. Science, Management and Operations
☒S2. Policy, Partnership and Communication
☐S3. Training and Capacity Building
☒S4. Laboratory Quality, Safety and Informatics for Public Health Testing Services, Surveillance and Response
For this Project: Select the outcomes that the project will contribute towards Please check and select responses for all applicable boxes below.
