About this file
This file is a Questions and Answers document for IHS solicitation IHS1522954 concerning CRSU Medical, Biohazardous, and Pharmaceutical Waste Pick-Up & Disposal Services. The document addresses clarifications on service delivery schedules, waste types, container provisions, and pricing requirements.
Key clarifications from the Q&A include: IHS requires weekly pickup of 5-6 containers of regulated medical waste (RMW) and will not accept bi-weekly alternatives; pharmaceutical waste may include both hazardous and non-hazardous materials processed separately into distinct containers; IHS will provide its own plastic sharps containers rather than requiring contractors to supply them; pricing must be Firm Fixed Pricing with no allowance for pricing amendments based on fuel cost fluctuations; and additional container costs apply specifically to Regulated Medical Waste. The Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service is the contracting agency for this medical waste disposal service opportunity.
