About this file
This document is an Addendum to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the City of Danville, Virginia for the "Five Forks Storm Sewer Replacement" project. The addendum revises the limits of the project, clarifies the scope of work, and provides answers to several contractor questions. The project involves demolition and removal of existing concrete sidewalks, asphalt roadway, storm culvert and sewer lines, and the installation of new storm and sewer lines, replacement of sidewalk and curb, and repaving of the roadway. The revised bid form and project limits are attached. The bid closing date is June 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., with a pre-bid conference held on June 5, 2024. The contract completion time is 90 days, and liquidated damages are $350 per day. The bid shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
The bid requires a 5% bid bond, and the awarded contractor must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Virginia Board for Contractors and obtain a City of Danville business license. No separate payment will be made for erosion and sedimentation control measures, maintenance of traffic, or restoration, as these costs are to be included in the prices bid for other items. The City of Danville has not specified any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and there is no information provided on any incumbent vendors or current contractors.
