About this file
This document is a Project Risk & Impact Assessment and Statement of Work for a federal construction project at Alexandria VA Health Care System in Pineville, Louisiana.
The project (No. 502-23-707) involves replacing wayfinding and signage throughout a 230,000 square-foot, five-story hospital building over an estimated 200-day period. The scope includes removing and installing new interior signage systems, improving wayfinding for patients and visitors, installing code-compliant signage for accessibility (braille, color blindness, memory-challenged populations), emergency/life safety signage, and warning signs. Wall repairs to match existing painted gypsum board finishes are included where necessary. Temporary partitions constructed of wood or light gauge metal framing with poly film and gypsum board must be provided to comply with facility Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements and prevent dust and debris spread. Required OSHA training includes 10-hour and 30-hour certifications. The contractor must conduct a mandatory pre-construction survey of existing conditions and submit a discrepancy report (Submittal #1) for approval before corrective work commences. The performance period consists of a 60-day pre-construction phase requiring submittal logs, pre-tab reports, and site surveys, followed by a 120-calendar-day construction phase. All work must be performed between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, unless otherwise approved. The contractor must obtain VA Police Department access badges for all personnel and subcontractors, comply with all applicable ASME, OSHA, EPA, VA, and federal/state/local codes and regulations, and coordinate all activities with the Project Engineer or Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

-Install/improve warning signs such as high voltage, hazardous materials and biohazards, etc.
- Install new wall covering at all elevator lobbies.
Temporary partitions must be provided as necessary to accommodate construction phasing to allow for the removal of existing signage and installation of new signage systems to comply with the ICRA requirements of the facility. These partitions will be constructed of wood or light gauge metal framing with poly film and gypsum board to prevent the spread of construction dust and debris.
