85% of the journal collection will be discarded from 2nd floor. 15% will be retained (materials to be discarded will be provided on a title list to the vendor)
All books from 3rd floor will be moved to 2nd floor. History collection & non-history collection must be separated.
Archives will be moving to 3rd floor (vendor does not need to move archival materials, only install shelving)
Website for library shelves: brodart.com, demco.com
All wooden shelves to be discarded except for single faced shelving specified. The specified shelving will be disassembled and set aside. Single faced, cantilevered, metal shelving at the far east end of the 2nd floor, currently containing microfilm reels, will remain.
After shelves are removed from 3rd floor, there will be possible pause of up to 6 months to allow for construction on 3rd floor. This construction includes carpet being removed as well as walls being possibly added. As a result, floor plans for the proposed third floor shelving layout may be adjusted to accommodate the new work space.
The type of end panels need that will need to be added to the shelves are as follows:
o The second floor end panels should be wood end panels with raised design and a finished look. The panels should be finished with catalyzed lacquer finish to resist scrapes, stains and UV discoloration. Panels may add 1” to the overall shelving height and depth. The LRC requests a Natural Oak finish similar to Demco item WF20550200.
