About this file
This document appears to be an amendment to a solicitation (Solicitation Number HT942524R0130) for the development of customized Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology within the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID)'s high containment laboratories. The solicitation is issued by the Defense Health Agency and aims to enhance inventory management and biosecurity through RFID technology. The amendment provides a response to a question regarding the curing time and method for tagging boxes and tubes. It clarifies that the tagging of boxes can occur at room temperature with no critical curing time, while the tagging of tubes must be done immediately upon removal from -80°C storage, within a short window of approximately 5 minutes at room temperature to avoid thawing the tubes.

RESPONSE TO QUESTION
Question 1 :
Would you be able to tell me how long the tag would have to cure between the application of the tag and the exposure to the specified cold temperatures? I wasn't able to figure this one out, perhaps I missed it on the file. But in understanding this, I will be able to figure out if the tag I have in mind will work.
Response 1:
There are two objectives:
| 1. | Tag the boxes – this will occur at room temperature. Curing time/method is not critical. |
| 2. | Tag the tubes – the tubes are kept at -80°C. We need to be able to the tag the tube immediately, upon removal from storage. We have a small window of time (~5 min) at room temperature to complete the tagging, however, we must avoid thawing the tube. |
