1. Will the ladder be the only means of egress to get personnel and material on to the island when work commences in April? If so, are we able to provide our own dock/gangway to load and offload equipment and personnel?

Response: Floating dock typically remains in place from mid-spring through mid-fall. When the dock is not in place, the ladder is the only means of access. A contractor can provide its own dock/gangway. Include your approach in your logistics plan.

2. Are our personnel able to use the onsite toilet facilities? Will we have to bring our own?

Response: Toilet facilities are NOT available. Contractor must provide.

3. Are we able to use cistern water for work operations? If so, will there be a daily usage limit?

Response: Cistern is not available for work operations.

4. It is my understanding that the motor on the crane structure will be removed in conjunction with the removal of the gangway and dock. Can we provide our own capacity compliant hoist motor and utilize that crane structure?

Response: Yes.

5. Will the light house light with the fresnel lens need to be fully operational during the duration of the work in the lighthouse?

Response: No.

6. As it pertains to alternate pricing- if the island remains open for tours, can the contractor assume that the NPS' floating dock and gangway will be available for use by the contractor?

Response: No. However, note that tours take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only.

The dock and gangway, if in place, will be available for use when it is not used for tours.

12. Do we need to bring out our own potable water for our clean up station/Decon Unit?

13. Please confirm we will be supplied with Holding Totes or containers to dispose of any gray water? Or will the contractor have to provide all gray water disposal methods?

Response: You will bring water to the site and dispose of it properly.

14. We would like confirmation that it is truly the intent of the spec writer to use Silicone Alkyd Enamel over Zinc Primer.

Response: Confirmed.

15. We would also like to know if the spec writer would entertain and allow the use of a complete Moisture Cured Urethane system? ie. Sherwin Williams Corothane I GalVaPac Zinc, Corothane I Ironox Intermediate, Corothane I Aliphatic Urethane Finish. (Both for Exterior and Interior Steel Surfaces.) This would allow for coating work during less favorable conditions without compromising system integrity.
