Lincoln Park Public Schools Hoover Elementary School Renovation and Addition Furniture Bid Package

This is a project manual and bid package document for Lincoln Park Public Schools in Michigan, prepared by Integrated Design Solutions (IDS). The project encompasses the furnishing, delivery, and installation of furniture for the Hoover Elementary School Renovation and Addition located at 3750 Howard Street, Lincoln Park, Michigan. The bid package includes five categories: seating furniture (21 line items totaling approximately 280+ units), tables (15 line items totaling approximately 130+ units), miscellaneous accessories (4 line items), storage solutions (17 line items totaling approximately 230+ units), and workstations (6 line items). Sealed bids were due on April 2, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. local time, submitted to Lincoln Park Public Schools, 1650 Champaign Road, Lincoln Park, Michigan 48146, Attention: Angela Black, Director of Finance. Installation was scheduled to commence on August 10, 2020, with completion required by August 14, 2020, for specified rooms including A101, A101a, A102, A103, A104, A110, B101 through B119, B124, C214, and C215. No formal bidder's conference or site visit requirement is documented in the materials, though contractors were advised to visit the site and inspect existing conditions prior to bidding.

Bidders were required to submit bids in duplicate as lump-sum proposals by category, with unit costs including installation, and to provide bid security equal to five percent of the base bid in the form of certified check, cashier's check, money order, or bid bond. Bids in excess of $50,000 may require Performance Bonds and Labor and Material Payment Bonds at 100 percent of contract amount, with costs reimbursed by the Owner. The contract was tax-exempt for loose furnishings, with the Owner providing tax-exempt identification. Unit prices were to remain firm for one year from the purchase order date. The District reserved the right to accept or reject any or all bids, split awards by item, select multiple firms, waive informalities, and award to other than the lowest bidder if deemed in the District's best interest. Bidders were required to submit a sworn and notarized affidavit certifying non-compliance with Iran Economic Sanctions Act requirements (Michigan Public Act 517 of 2012), and failure to comply resulted in automatic bid disqualification. Comprehensive insurance requirements included Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate), Workers' Compensation ($500,000 per accident), and Umbrella Liability ($2,000,000) with the District named as additional insured.
