About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation for upgrading the security system at a Defense Information Systems Agency facility in San Antonio, Texas. The solicitation seeks proposals to upgrade access control, closed circuit television, and network video recording systems by installing new card readers, cameras, cabling, and servers. Proposers must replace biometric scanners and install fiber optic cable for exterior cameras over 250 feet from buildings. The agency will provide temporary rack space and prefers using the latest Windows and SQL server versions. The deadline was extended one week to allow time for contractors to validate responses.

71. Per Appendix A, Page #: ACS Door Schedule, It was mentioned at the site survey that allbiometric readers are to be removed and the wall to be patched to match the exisitngconditions. Although the term BIO is listed in the provided ACS Door Schedules legend it doesnot appear in the schedule at any door; nor on any floorplan. Will the customer please providean updated list including the location of all such readers. The biometric scanners are shown onthe door drawings.
72.Per Solicitation section number 6.3.1.1 on page 10, This section states, "...contact card readers."Which card readers should be contact card readers? The contact card readers are shown on thedoor drawings.

74.Per the Solicitation scope on page 4, This section states, " …New Cat 6 Cabling in purpleinsulation and installed in purple color-coded conduit is required to support new ACS CardReaders, CCTV Cameras, and NVRs." Large chases identified in the drawings as 4" conduits werenoticed during the walk through as being installed below the ceiling. Is it the customersintention that the contractors run all new, above ceiling, conduit and cable to every reader andevery camera? Existing conduit and cabling can be used if DISA requirements are met. Newconduit and cabling shall be installed above the ceiling.

76.Per the Solicitation scope on page 4, It was noticed during the walk through that the exteriorcamera poles are ladened with multiple junction boxes yet the drawings show only CAT6running to them. (Just a few with connections to LV provided from within the building) Basedon the environment and distance fiber optic cable is recommended for all exterior pole cameras. Is it the customers intent for all existing cables to each exterior pole be replaced with fiberrather than the stated CAT6? If digital cameras, Cat 6 must be used for PoE.
77.Per the Solicitation scope on page 4, Is it the customers intention to have all camera junctionboxes on the poles removed and the poles "patched" in some way? If the j-boxes can be reused, use them. If not, leave in place.

IAW question 6 has the networkbeen extended via fiber to this location or is the customers intent that the contractors installfiber to this location to support the new cameras and readers? Fiber can be used if the distanceis 250’ or greater with appropriate optical converter.Comment by KYLE STONESIFER: I believe they make converters. OGD uses fiber on all their cameras. Need a converter on both ends.
79.Per the Solicitation scope on page 4, IAW question 8 the guard house also includes an intercom. This is not addressed in the documents but is assumed to be in the same condition as the rest ofthe system as well as being integrated to the same. Will the customer be adding this singleintercom to the scope.? No
Note: Fiber can be used for outside cameras and cable lengths greater than 250’ withappropriate optic converter.
