General
The price of materials and commodities has significantly increased this past year and given the risk to a small business to predict and price further increases in the coming year, will the Government consider inserting 52.216-4, Economic Price Adjustment, for the Materials post award?

Without such a clause, all of the bidders will be forced to have to forward price escalations and potentially significantly overcharge the government if these increases do not happen. Including the proposed clause reduces risk for the Government as well as the contractor and aligns with the LPTA solicitation evaluation method.

Question

No, due to the 1-year timeframe for completion of this project and the majority of the materials needing to be provided near the start of that period, there should not be a need for an economic price adjustment.

General
Please provide approximate square footage (and if possible, location in relation to the work site) available at the job site for use by the contractor to store materials and equipment, conduct assembly and pre-construction activities, receive deliveries, and operate a construction office.

Without appropriate space provided on site, the contractor labor cost and field office overhead cost will significantly increase and affect the overall price to the Government.

Within the worksite rooms B07-B11 have been vacated and could be used by the contractor for stated activities. These rooms are in direct line with the loading dock for the basement. There is also space for a limited number of smaller work connex’s around the facility with prior coordination.
