About this file
This document is a Work Write-Up for handrails and guardrails installation prepared by the City of Jackson, Michigan for a residential property located at 138 W Addison Street. The project involves installing new handrails and guardrails to meet building code requirements, specifically including a spruce railing system with 2" x 4" top and bottom rails, 2" x 2" balusters spaced 6" on center, and 4" x 4" support posts. The scope encompasses multiple railing installations: an upper section handrail, a guard rail in the basement section, a new left-side handrail with brackets extending past upper and lower steps, and a wrought iron handrail on the front precast steps.
The project appears to be a municipal home improvement initiative, likely part of a community development or housing rehabilitation program. No specific budget or funding source is explicitly detailed in the document. The work will require the homeowner's color selection for the railing system, which will receive two coats of solid color stain or paint. Contractors are encouraged to contact the homeowner directly to assess the property and understand the project's full scope. The document includes spaces for signatures from the owner, contractor, and a construction specialist, indicating a formal process for project approval and execution.
