Thank you for choosing The Long Center for your special event. We ask you to please read through the following information and acknowledge with your signature at the bottom. We also suggest sharing this information with anyone you think would benefit from it including; coaches and concession staff.
Event Staff
The event organizer will be responsible for all of their participants and spectators using the facility. At all times, the hallway on the main level is to be clear of players, coaches and spectators. This is a public facility and there will be many other people at the Center for exercising, swimming, etc. Only coaches and players are allowed on the courts. Spectators have a separate seating area on the second floor, which overlooks all 3 courts.
As a result, all rentals will need their own event staff member/volunteer to run the doors both downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs worker can handle your admission fees.
The downstairs worker should be sitting at the main entrance downstairs and is responsible for your participants; their duties should be as follows:
-Check coaches badges -Monitor teams to ensure they’re not coming in before 2 minutes left in the current game.
-Preventing random players and spectators from entering the downstairs area -Not allowing food or coolers on the courts, ONLY water can be brought on the gym floor.
Vendors:
At your event you are allowed to have an admissions table and a concessions table free of charge. As the event organizer, if you would like additional outside vendors at your event your vendors must meet the following criteria and you must pay the city per vendor per day. Outside vendors must bring their own equipment including tables and chairs. All outside vendors must have a City of Clearwater business license and conform to all concession, signage and electric regulations listed in this document.
Concessions:
All concessions are limited to sell commercially prepackaged food and snacks. All drinks served must be Coca-Cola products as per The City of Clearwater vending agreement.
For concessions no food can be made, cooked or heated on site. Any food must be “made” offsite by a licensed food service business. The food must be served with a gloved hand if not wrapped. (ie: pizza) These rules regarding food only apply to items listed for sale and do not apply to items given away for free. (ie: hospitality/coaches room) If the event organizer wants to sell food or beverages not included above they must follow any active vending contract, get a business license, a health department certificate and insurance, which must be presented three days prior to usage, with the City of Clearwater listed on all applicable documents.
Signage/Electric We encourage you to advertise your event as well as concessions at your event.
However when hanging signs please ensure that under no circumstances are signs to be taped to any surface. Signs can be tacked to the walls with sticky tac only both upstairs and down. The center also has several stand-up signs as well as sign holders for glass surfaces. Please let us know and we will be happy to assist.
If you need any electric for your event please make sure you have proper extension cords if needed. The Long Center has only a limited number available. When using cords please make sure they are out of walkways and do not cause any trip hazards. If so they must be covered, taped or marked in the appropriate manner. Long Center staff will approve when completed.
Reservation Charges Each facility being reserved will require a deposit fee that will be applied to the balance of the rental at the conclusion of the event. If a renter decides to cancel or reduce their usage, they must contact the city no less than 30 days out, to get a refund. If the Sports Commission is involved, a commitment letter will need to be on file outlining their financial commitment.
Additional staff support and rental rates of rooms will be determined by The Long Center. If the scope of the activity surpasses the original request, the additional charges will be added to the permit and will be the responsibility of the event organizer.

Parking and Transportation Located 8 miles from Tampa International Airport (TPA), transportation in and around downtown is easy and versatile. Tampa Convention Center is easily accessible for 450 parking spaces with an additional 5,000 spaces within a four-block radius. In addition, the
TECO streetcar trolley system delivers guests adjacent to the center from throughout the Riverwalk and downtown areas.
Giving Back to our Community and Environment -Tampa Convention Center (TCC) is committed to community enrichment programs. Rather than ship or throw out promotional material like tote bags, note pads, pens, and calculators, teachers are using them in classrooms through Teaching Tools for Hillsborough County Schools. Carpet remnants, scrap lumber and surplus building materials from the tradeshow floor help rebuild neighborhoods with help from Habitat for Humanity.
-TCC utilizes locally grown produce and sustainable products to lessen transportation emissions. We are proud to donate unused food to local charities including Metropolitan Ministries, Salvation Army, and Feeding America Tampa Bay. Our most successful donation generated over 9,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables.
-TCC recycles over 1,000 cubic yards of aluminum, plastic, and mixed paper products as well as 20 tons of cardboard annually. Simplified recycling efforts have allowed us to co-mingle our tin, aluminum, glass, plastic bottles, and cans.
LED Lighting is replacing old fluorescent bulbs (which are recycled, of course).
Sensor-activated light fixtures are installed in many of the Center’s restrooms.
-TCC has 9 acres of energy-star-rated reflective roof covering that helps reduce the heat load up to 15%. We utilize a computer control system that precisely matches the cooling and heating needs, conserving energy while keeping you comfortable for any type of event any time of year.
-TCC is an Energy Star Partner with a certified LEED GA on staff. Energy Star is a Federal EPA program that ranks buildings by their energy consumption compared to others of similar size and use. TCC ranks very high at 84% of building efficiency as compared with other convention centers. EPA Green Seal cleaning products are used as well as water based coatings and paint.
