About this file
The file is a PowerPoint presentation detailing the GSA Affiliated Custom Accounts (GACA) process for creating and using Google Drive and Google Sites for GSA employees and partner agencies. The presentation provides step-by-step instructions for creating a GACA account, which requires a Gmail address starting with "GSA." and mandatory two-factor authentication. Key technical specifications include file storage capabilities (up to 5 TB), support for multiple file types including Microsoft, Adobe, and video formats, and compliance with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 security requirements.
The presentation emphasizes that this Google collaboration platform is specifically for customer agencies and civilian partners not currently using Google Apps for Government or Google Apps Premier. OCIO Security Staff will monitor shared Google Drive and Google Sites to ensure compliance. The guidance aims to prevent inadvertent use of personal Gmail accounts and provides detailed instructions on account creation, login procedures, and file sharing capabilities across various document types and sizes.

GSA Affiliated Custom Accounts (GACA) Google Drive™ and Google Sites™ Step by step instructions on how our customer agencies and civilian partners that have NOT incorporated the use of Google Apps for Government or Google Apps Premier into their workplace presented by Adrienne Meech
U.S. General Services Administration
What is GACA?
Google Drive™ and Google Sites™ provide GSA employees a way to create, edit and share work from anywhere. Real-time collaboration can now be accomplished not only with other GSA employees, but also their customers and business partners.
The collaborative data stored on the Google Drive™ and Google Sites™ systems are compliant to the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2. This standard ensures that access to and transmission of the files on these systems is via a secure web page that requires the TLS 1.0 encryption standard at minimum.
The GSA has provided a mechanism to ensure that customers and partners of GSA can access this information via a Gmail account. Although anyone can create the Gmail account, the account must be created with the string beginning “GSA.” (the letters G S A and a period), and must have two factor authentication turned on.
