5. Initial Membrane Test: Perform initial membrane integrity test upon completion of membrane and integrity test system installation and prior to installation of membrane over-burden.
6. Final Testing: Repeat membrane integrity test if roof assembly is exposed to traffic or construction operations prior to Substantial Completion.
7. Installing and Testing Firm Qualifications: Engage an independent testing agency to observe and conduct membrane integrity test and provide reports indicating testing procedure, methodology and results. Testing firm to have a minimum 5 year record of satisfactory experience.
3.9 PROTECTING AND CLEANING
A. Protect membrane roofing system from damage and wear during remainder of construction period. When remaining construction will not affect or endanger roofing, inspect roofing for deterioration and damage, describing its nature and extent in a written report, with copies to Contracting Officer and Government.
B. Correct deficiencies in or remove membrane roofing system that does not comply with requirements; repair substrates; and repair or reinstall membrane roofing system to a condition free of damage and deterioration at time of Substantial Completion and according to warranty requirements.
C. Clean overspray and spillage from adjacent construction using cleaning agents and procedures recommended by manufacturer of affected construction.
3.10 CLOSEOUT
A. Correction of Work: Work that does not conform to specified requirements including tolerances, slopes, and finishes shall be corrected and/or replaced. Any deficiencies of membrane application, termination and/or protection as noted during the membrane manufacturer’s inspections shall be corrected and/or replaced at Contractor’s expense.
