About this file
This document is a set of construction plans for the repair of North Park Road at milepost 15.8 in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, prepared by the Western Federal Lands Highway Division of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The project (WY NP GRTE 13(1), NPS PMIS No. 264351) involves asphalt surface repair, deep patching, roadway excavation, geotextile stabilization, and installation of an underdrain system along a 0.07-mile section of road. The design specifications reference Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-24. The project is located in Teton County, Wyoming, at an elevation of approximately 6,810 to 6,821 feet, with an existing average daily traffic (ADT) of 756 vehicles (2024) projected to increase to 1,123 vehicles by 2044. The design accommodates a 45-mile-per-hour maximum speed and includes a two-lane configuration with 11-foot traveled lanes and 2.5-foot shoulders.
The construction scope includes clearing and grubbing (0.1 acre), removal of an existing 24-inch pipe culvert, roadway excavation (1,252 cubic yards), select borrow placement (707 cubic yards), stabilization geotextile installation (2,667 square yards), roadway aggregate base course (553 tons), asphalt concrete pavement type 1 (253 tons), installation of a new 24-inch pipe culvert (80 linear feet), and a standard underdrain system (200 linear feet). The plans specify staging and storage areas at Mudflats Pullout and Jackson Lake Overlook, with material disposal at Spread Creek Pit. Soil erosion control measures include fiber rolls totaling 809 linear feet. The bid schedule encompasses standard pay items for mobilization, construction survey and staking, contractor quality control and testing, construction schedule, equipment rental (dump trucks, backhoe loaders, rollers, hydraulic excavators), general labor, sign and delineator removal/reset, pavement markings (1,560 linear feet each for white and yellow), and temporary and permanent traffic control including traffic signal systems, cones, drums, construction signs, flaggers, and traffic control supervision.
