• Comply with all applicable ANSI, ASTM, OSHA, CONN-OSHA, and manufacturer requirements.

• Provide all labor, materials, equipment, packaging, and incidentals necessary for manufacture, preparation, and delivery of the pump to the Town-designated facility.

• This Contract is for equipment supply and delivery only, unless otherwise explicitly stated.

Installation, piping, electrical work, alignment, startup, and commissioning shall be by others.

F.2 Submittals

No equipment shall be ordered or shipped until all submittals have been reviewed and approved by the Town.

The Contractor shall submit complete technical submittals demonstrating compliance with this

BID for the proposed sludge gravity thickener pump.

The basis of design for the pump is a SEEPEX Model BN35-6LS progressive cavity pump, which establishes the minimum acceptable standards for performance, materials, configuration, reliability, maintenance, and documentation.

Approved equal pumps, including rotary lobe pumps or other proven positive displacement pump designs, may be submitted for review, provided the proposed equipment meets or exceeds the basis-of-design pump in all respects.

F.3 Materials

All materials shall be new, unused, defect-free, and suitable for continuous-duty municipal wastewater sludge service.

F.4 Sludge Gravity Thickener Pump Requirements

1. The pump shall be a 480 Volt positive displacement pump suitable for gravity thickener sludge applications in a municipal wastewater environment.

2. The basis of design is a progressive cavity pump equivalent to the SEEPEX Model BN35-

6LS, which establishes minimum acceptable criteria for:

o Hydraulic performance o Solids-handling capability o Materials of construction o Reliability and service life o Maintenance accessibility and downtime o Documentation and support

3. Approved equal pump technologies may include, but are not limited to, rotary lobe pumps or other proven positive displacement pump designs, provided the proposed equipment meets or exceeds the basis-of-design pump in all respects.

4. The pump shall be designed to handle variable solids concentrations and viscous sludge typical of gravity thickener service.

5. The pump shall provide smooth, controlled flow characteristics suitable for sludge handling and shall be designed to minimize shear, clogging, and process disturbance.

6. The pump shall be of heavy-duty, industrial-grade construction intended for continuous-duty municipal wastewater service.

7. The Town reserves the right to determine acceptability of proposed equal equipment based on compliance with this BID and overall suitability for gravity thickener sludge applications.

Process and Operating Conditions

• Flow Range: 5 to 75 gallons per minute (GPM)

• Solids Content: 0.5% to 5.0% by weight

• Duty Cycle: Continuous operation, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week (24/7)

The pump shall be capable of reliable operation across the full flow and solids range without clogging, excessive wear, abnormal vibration, loss of prime, or degradation of performance.

Mechanical and Structural Requirements

• Pump shall be furnished with a factory-fabricated baseplate suitable for municipal wastewater service.

• Baseplate shall include integral mounting features to allow:

o Secure anchoring o Proper alignment o Ease of removal and reinstallation

• Baseplate and mounting configuration shall be designed to minimize vibration and support long-term continuous operation.

Maintenance and Serviceability

• Pump design shall prioritize quick and efficient maintenance, including:

o Rapid replacement of primary wear components appropriate to the pump technology o Minimal disassembly for routine service o Clear and safe access to wear components

• Wear parts shall be readily replaceable using standard tools.

• Design shall minimize downtime and reduce labor required for maintenance activities.

General Performance Expectations

• Pump shall be suitable for municipal wastewater sludge service under variable operating conditions.

• Equipment shall be corrosion-resistant and designed for extended service life.

• Pump shall operate smoothly with minimal pulsation and vibration appropriate to sludge service.

Materials of Construction

• Wetted components (including lobes and casing, or rotor and stator, as applicable) shall be constructed of materials compatible with wastewater and biosolids service.

• Pump shall include heavy-duty bearings and drive components designed for extended service life.

• Replaceable wear components shall be readily available from the manufacturer.

F.4 Workmanship

• All equipment shall be factory-assembled and factory-tested in accordance with manufacturer standards.

• Refurbished, reconditioned, or previously used equipment is not permitted.

• All components shall be first-quality and free from defects.
