About this file

This document is an addendum to the 2026 Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) GenNET Surveillance Camera Request for Proposals, issued by GISD in Michigan on July 27, 2026. The RFP establishes a consortium procurement process for surveillance camera systems involving GISD and participating school districts. The bid submission deadline remains July 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with all other terms and conditions of the original RFP remaining in full force and effect. This addendum addresses vendor questions received via email regarding the consortium structure and procurement process.

The addendum clarifies that the GISD consortium is a distinct procurement vehicle, unlike REMC or similar contract mechanisms. Participating school districts may be able to utilize the results of the GISD RFP process without conducting their own individual RFPs, depending on district-specific board policies. GISD will provide assistance to districts in reviewing camera placement needs and matching requirements with vendors, though most districts typically continue with their existing surveillance systems. The addendum does not specify pricing terms, funding sources, or set-aside requirements in the portions disclosed.

Questions

1. Is this consortium between the ISD and the school districts similar to REMC or other contract vehicles?

a. No, the consortium is not like REMC.

2. Does this process save the District from having to go through the entire RFP process?

a. It depends on the district and their board policies, but many will honor the GISD RFP process and not need to do their own.

3. When a District is looking at purchasing new cameras, does the ISD typically help match their needs with a specific vendor, or do they typically look at multiple options?

a. Most districts continue using the system they currently have. GISD will assist with reviewing camera placement if the district asks.
