About this file

This document contains the procurement specifications for the FY22 Sprinkler Pendant Replacement Project at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center, which is operated by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). The project involves the replacement of 73 dry sprinkler pendants on one residential unit at the center. The specifications outline the required product details, including manufacturer, series, temperature rating, response type, and dry sprinkler functionality. The work must be completed by a licensed sprinkler contractor and is subject to the Prevailing Wage Act. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid onsite meeting is required, and the winning bidder must provide a performance bond and comply with the center's health and safety protocols, including temperature checks and face mask/shield requirements.

The bids submitted for this project are considered "not to exceed" the stated dollar amount, and the winning vendor must provide a 12-month warranty on the work performed and a 24-month warranty on the installed units. IDHS reserves the right to adjust the bid due date and time as needed. The winning bidder must also comply with all center policies while onsite and schedule the work during the center's hours of operation, with approval from the center's engineer.
