SUBJECT: Questions and Answers – Solicitation FA500426B0002, Project FTQW261103 DFAC Roof Repair
Please find the list of Contractor questions and Government responses for the Solicitation Phase of the above labeled project:
1 Paragraph 1.10.1 in Spec Section 07 54 19 states, “the warranty will also cover interior damage waiver for a minimum of 15 years.” This is non-standard warranty language that roof membrane manufacturers don’t typically cover. Please verify if an interior damage waiver is required on this project. If required, please clarify the interior damage extent and value threshold of building contents that this warranty needs to cover.
The 15 year incidental internal coverage aspect of the warranty requirement specified in the statement of work and specifications has been red lined out.
2 Paragraph 2.1.1 in Spec Section 07 54 19 states, “the scrim shall have a minimum thread pattern of 18 x 14 threads per inch and be constructed from an anti-wicking treated material.” This minimum thread pattern appears to be specific to a manufacturer. Please advise if scrim with a minimum thread pattern other than 18 x 14 threads per inch will be accepted by the Government.
The scrim pattern specified in the statement of work and specifications is required.
3 Will this building be in use during the reroofing? The building will be in use and occupied for the duration of the project.
4 Are there any noise restraints? (the existing concrete roof decking will require extremely noisy hammer drilling the concrete to allow for the roof membrane attachment to the concrete deck).
There are no noise restraints regarding this project.
5 Are the 2 lower roof decks not shown in the as-built drawings included in the scope of work?
Yes, these roof sections are included in the scope. Please see attached drawing
JA 08 AS-BLT AF 36-26-09.
6 In regard to the large metal concealed fastener wall panels that need to be removed/cut back for the new roofing installation at the lower decks and cut off/modified along the entire length of the upper parapet wall, do you have any further information on their assembly?
Drawing attached as JA 09 AS-BLT 97- 1139 is the best picture we can find that shows some of the assembly from the original construction.
