About this file
The document is a comprehensive set of engineering plans and technical specifications for the Riverside Dock and Pier Replacement Project for the City of Fort Myers, Florida. The project involves replacing an existing dock and pier along the Caloosahatchee River, with detailed plans for a 291-foot main access dock, a 20x20 foot observation pier, a 6x24 foot floating paddlecraft launch, and associated infrastructure including solar lighting, fire suppression standpipes, handrails, and sidewalk improvements. The project will be constructed in the existing footprint of the current structures, with specific design considerations for marine environmental conditions, including pile driving, decking materials, and protective wrapping.
The technical specifications outline precise requirements for materials, including Southern Yellow Pine pilings treated with Chromium Copper Arsenate, Micro-Mesh decking, and FiberGrate components. The project includes five solar-powered LED lighting assemblies, fire protection connections positioned at strategic intervals, and restoration of surrounding walkways. The design accounts for local environmental factors such as mean high water (MHW) and mean low water (MLW) levels, with wind resistance specifications up to 160 mph. While no specific budget is provided in the documents, the detailed engineering plans suggest a comprehensive marine infrastructure renewal project aimed at improving public waterfront access and safety.
