About this file

This document contains a sample matching funds letter and details of a related federal grant opportunity through the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service. The sample letter commits the Samplesville Garden Club to providing $4,500 in in-kind matching funds from non-federal sources for their "Growing Samplesville Together" project under the Farm to School Grant Program's Implementation track. Specifically, the letter outlines that the matching funds will come from volunteer hours valued at $15 per hour between September 2023 and July 2024 to support completing the project objectives.

The corresponding federal grant opportunity is the FY2024 Farm to School Grants through the USDA-FNS-F2S-2024 solicitation. Eligible projects must fall under the Farm to School Grant Program, which aims to help schools implement farm to school programs that improve access to local foods in schools. Applications appear to be due in early 2024, with project periods expected to run through mid-2024.
