FORT LEE GAS LINE CATHODIC PROTECTION
There are five impressed current point anode rectifier systems operating within Fort Lee, which provides protection to underground gas piping post-wide. Each individual system is electrically isolated from the others by the installation of insulating fittings. The area of each system and the location of its rectifier are given below:
Rectifier 1 - located near the Mahone Avenue Gate, southeast of the corner of Mahone Avenue and Jessup Street. This rectifier, provides current to the 10 inch main feed line from the Mahone Avenue Gate to Adams Avenue and on the feeder lines to the U.S. Army Logistics Center Buildings and Bldg 12500.
Rectifier 2 - located on Mahone Avenue near Carver Avenue, behind Building 9100.
This rectifier provides protection to the lines in an area Byrd and Lee Avenue to the north. This includes the Kenner Army Clinic and the Post Exchange Facilities.
Rectifier 3 - located near the east of Battle Drive in Housing Area C (Madison Park), next to Building 740. This rectifier supplies current to the gas piping of Family Housing Areas B (Monroe Manor) and C (Madison Park).
Rectifier 4 - located in Housing Area “A” (Jackson Circle) across Route 36 from the Main Gate, east of Building 600. Gas piping in Housing Area A receives current from this rectifier.
Rectifier 5 - located on Adams Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets, in front of Building 6025. Current is provided to the gas piping of the northeast section of the main post.
