About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Emergency Electrical System Upgrades at two Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) in Nebraska - Omaha and Grand Island. The project involves expanding emergency power coverage to critical hospital areas including the canteen, inpatient kitchen, CT machines, and elevators, with a 365-calendar day performance period. Key technical requirements include upgrading electrical circuits, rerouting power sources, installing new circuits, reconfiguring electrical services, and implementing remote monitoring for generators across seven different generator systems.
The SOW specifies detailed electrical work requirements such as using copper conductors, specific splicing methods, installing conduits above grade, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and OSHA standards. Contractor qualifications include providing licensed journeyman and apprentice electricians, documentation of safety training, and performing acceptance tests. The project involves multiple specific electrical upgrades across different buildings and locations within the Omaha VAMC campus, including work in the inpatient kitchen, SPS room, radiology, elevator systems, chiller plant, and implementing comprehensive remote generator monitoring with building automation system integration.
