About this file

This document appears to be a conceptual hydrology model for the village of Savoonga, Alaska, which is associated with a data gap analysis contract opportunity issued by the Alaska Army National Guard, Environmental. The model provides a visual representation of the village's subsurface geology, including the active layer, continuous permafrost, and bedrock, as well as the location of existing water supply wells and surface water features. The related contract opportunity, RFP 250000002, seeks qualified offerors to provide a data gap analysis for the Savoonga Federal Scout Armory. The deadline for receipt of proposals is 2:00pm Alaska Standard Time on August 22, 2024. Interested parties must register with the DMVA/DAS Procurement Office to receive any subsequent amendments to the RFP. Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted in writing to the DMVA/DAS Procurement Office.

The RFP does not provide any details regarding pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or other salient financial information. The contract opportunity is focused on conducting a data gap analysis for the Savoonga Federal Scout Armory, which is located in the Nome Census Area of Alaska.

2. This conceptual hydrology model is based on a composite of soil borings logs, supra-permafrost water monitoring wells, and historic investigation information, which is provided in Section 7.2 of the Decision Document. Logs from the 1972 village water supply well installation and a 1966 well installation attempt provided information about regional geology and depth to bedrock.
