About this file
This is an Addendum #1 to a Structured Cabling Request for Proposal issued by Forest Hills Public Schools in Michigan, prepared by Plante Moran on October 16, 2020. The project involves the demolition and replacement of structured cabling infrastructure across multiple school buildings. Key project specifications include the demolition of approximately eight cables per classroom, including combinations of coaxial, unshielded twisted pair, and phone lines, along with the removal of cabling and racks from network closets as detailed in Appendix A. The existing single-mode fiber backbone will remain in place, with new fiber runs only required if specified in future change orders. The bid opening was scheduled for October 22, 2020, at 10:00 AM ET at the Forest Hills Public Schools Administration Building in Room #5. All project appendices and drawings (Appendix A and B) are available on the State of Michigan SIGMA website.
The addendum addresses vendor inquiries regarding demolition quantities, existing infrastructure specifications, and material standards. Forest Hills Public Schools has not established a standardized brand preference for premises wiring, indicating that vendors may propose solutions from various manufacturers such as Panduit or CommScope. Unit costs are requested for potential new fiber runs as contingency pricing, though the primary scope focuses on cabinet and cabling replacement within the existing infrastructure framework.
