Questions and Answers for the Relocation Acquisition
1. What size(s) are the 321 bookshelves on the public side of the library> The bookshelves are 36inches long. However, we are not moving the shelves only the books that are on the shelves. The number of shelves containing materials has been reduced to 219 shelves.
2. What is the approximate weight of the two safes?
Each safe weighs 525 pounds when empty. We estimate another 100 pounds since they are fully loaded. Total estimated weight of each safe as loaded is 625 pounds.
3. Will we need special equipment to move the safes?
Probably. When the safes were brought in it took three large, strong men to move them in using a heavy-duty dolly. A small spider type crane might be helpful though moving in and out of the space where the safes are stored is a little tight.
4. What are the size(s) of the 285 shelves on the staff side of the library?
The shelves are 36inches long. However, we are not moving eh shelves only the material on the shelves.
5. What kinds of other items might be added?
Other items would include 235 large, metal bookends , book trucks, boxed up supplies, a stack of unassembled boxes, etc. a fully loaded microfilm cabinet, a fully loaded cabinet of CDs, a fully loaded wood card catalog, an atlas stand, a small table and chairs, small microfilm readers, small laminator, etc.

Everything to be loaded from the ground.
