Solicitation: FA930121R0003

Project: AF Plant 42 Spectrum Beacon Tower Edwards, CA 93524

RFI:

1. Where will we be pulling power from?

Power will be pulled from the Grey Eagle site which is approx. 300-500 feet from the new tower location. See Attachment 11.

2. Will we use the existing generator?

AFP 42 will not use the current generator. See updated SOW for new generator requirements.

3. Will we demo the old tower?

Yes, see SOW para 1.4.1.10.

4. Will the awarded contractor need to perform a safe off on the existing electrical system?

Question is not clear. Please clarify. Are you speaking of the electrical on the existing tower or from the Grey Eagle site. Please provide additional information. Electrical drawings from the Grey Eagle site are provided.

5. Will the old slab be removed by the contractor who is awarded the contract?

No, the old slab can remain in place.

6. Will we need to enter the flight line?

No, all construction is on Site 5. No airfield access is required.

7. Can we set up shop on site?

Yes, you may set up a laydown yard adjacent to the site and ensure that it does not impede traffic.

8. Do we have any slab blueprints to see all structural hardware?

Question not clear, please clarify. What hardware?

9. Can we have the old slab radar penetrated as needed?

Yes

10. Do you have any parameters on the dimensions of the sides?

a. Looks like the existing tower is around 7’ across but this tower is taller?

No, the width of the tower legs is dependent on the height and the additional engineering support required to support two platforms and a rotating beacon.

11. Could you give me an idea of what you guys are thinking about the new tower?

The requirements for the new tower are contained in the SOW.

12. After viewing the SOW with our tower vendor, they are needing to know more information regarding antenna loading. Do you have any information available for current or any future antennas that would go onto the new tower?

We have some Antennas that will be transferred from another tower but we cannot anticipate future growth. The platform weight loads should give them an indication of required steel strength. I will check with our IT department and try to get a picture of the current antennas.
