Kirtland, FA860425RB029 Question Set #5
23 July 2025
1. Q. It appears this area is split with a floor drain and a security fence, are we assuming there will be two separate systems or will we be able to cut around the drain/fence to use a single wire guidance loop?
A. The fence will be provided as part of this contract. Three floor drains are present.
See two additional pictures below showing the gaps between them. The exact configuration of the guidance systems are not specified and are left to the discretion of the contractor as long as the performance specifications are met.
2. Q. In the security area there appears to be EAC halfway down the aisle, just wanting to confirm you are needing 4 additional magnets per aisle in this section (shown below) o
A. Security fence will be provided to form a secured storage area. Narrow aisle guidance will be provided in the rows on either side of this fence with slow downs required to prevent collision with the fence.
3. Q. Do you have a total number of linear feet or a CAD file I can quickly draw in the wire guidance?
A. CAD file will be provided upon request. Note this is the original, unrevised file.
Although not revised to the latest, the building dimensions have not changed.
4. Q. Will there be special requirements for the install crew due to this being an AFB?
Daily Safety Meetings? American Citizen? Union Labor? Etc?
A. FAR 52.236-13 Contractor Accident Prevention outlines the responsibilities of contractors in preventing accidents on government projects. It mandates contractors provide and maintain work environments and procedures to safeguard the public and government personnel, property, materials, supplies and equipment.
American Citizen question, under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, employers are prohibited from hiring only U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents unless required by law, regulation or government contract. Union Labor question, since this is not a construction contract there are no requirements for Union labor.
