About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document responding to inquiries regarding federal contract solicitation FA8601-26-Q-0048 for AFIT Open Furniture at Facility 20641, Project #2025TP202, issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/PZIBA) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on 9 June 2026.
The document clarifies eight key requirements for the open office furniture project. Marker board specifications require one 36-inch width and one 30-inch width unit. All panels in the system must be powered. For panel runs exceeding 10 feet without support, wing panels of at least 24 inches must be added for structural support. MBF (modular base frame) is acceptable in place of BBF (basic base frame) with cushions under desks where space constraints exist. Notched worksurfaces are acceptable alternatives to grommets on returns. For documentation of "equal" product equivalency when using "Basis of Design or Equal" specifications, manufacturers' cut sheets combined with itemized quotes are sufficient; side-by-side comparisons to Minimum Technical Requirements are not required. F-WS01 type cubicles with 6x6-foot configurations and 67-inch monolithic panels with sliding doors are not acceptable; the specification requires the standard 6x6-foot configuration. Perimeter panels (Items HP1 and P4) are 81-inch ±/- systems panels, not floor-to-ceiling walls, with runs stabilized through attachment to workstations.

SUBJECT: Response to Inquiries regarding FA8601-26-Q-0048, AFIT Open Furniture, F20641 Project #
2025TP202
Questions: AFIT Open Furniture, F20641 Project # 2025TP202- Solicitation FA8601-26-Q-0048
1. Typical E – For the Marker Boards do you mean you want a 36”w and a 30”w? or (2) 30”w.
Answer: Yes 36” W and 30” W Marker Board
2. According to the cut sheets and furniture plan I looks like ALL panels are to be powered. Is this true?
Answer: Yes
3. Typical MSP1 – For panel runs this long we will need to connect to the stations for support where able. In areas where the panel run is longer that 10’ unsupported, a wing panel (at least 24”) will need to be added for support. Is this acceptable?
4. Typical E /PO1/F.WS01– BBF with cushion will not fit under the desk. Is an MBF acceptable?
5. Is a notched worksurface acceptable in place of the grommet on the return?
6. I’m reviewing the requirements for FA860126Q0048 (Open Office Furniture – Facility 20641).
The cutsheets and SOW reference “Basis of Design or Equal” for several product categories.
a. To ensure our submission is fully compliant, could you please confirm the Government’s preferred format for documenting “equal” product equivalency? For example, would you like a side-by-side comparison to the Minimum Technical Requirements, or is a manufacturer cutsheet sufficient?
Answer: Manufacturers cut sheets along with you itemize quote is sufficient
7. In the case of the F-WS01 type cubicles, unfortunately the requested configuration is 6x6' and does not allow the installation of the sliding door. Due to door requirements, cubicles would need to be at least 7x6'. Can we quote cubicles with a monolithic panel but at a height of 67"h, since for this height we do have a sliding door of 36" Answer: 7x6 cubicles with monolithic panels 67” H are not acceptable.
8. Are you are asking for a panel system or floor to ceiling walls with one door to go around the perimeter? Item HP1 and P4
Answer: These are not floor to ceiling panels but 81” +/- systems panels (I assumed), yes the runs are long but the workstations can be used to attach to them for stability as well.
