Pre-Proposal RFI W/ Responses

1. There is military equipment in room 132, will this be removed by the owner? GOV TO

RELOCATE.

2. The prints state that a graphic timeline is to be removed, stored and replaced. What about the rest of the memorabilia on the walls throughout the facility? REFER TO GENERAL NOTES ON

SHEET G-O.

3. There is stain on the carpet flooring in the vault that the user commented has been bleeding through from underneath. Is the cause of this stain known? STAIN PRESENCE HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED AS ALLEGED. BID PROJECT ACCORIDNG TO PROJECT DOCUMENTS. Are there any special prepping requirements for this particular area? SEE RESPONSE IN QUESTION NO. 3

(ABOVE).

4. Will the safes in the vault be removed and replaced by the owner? GOV TO RELOCATE SAFES.

5. Will all of the asbestos containing debris noted above the ceiling need to be abated or just the areas where the ceiling is going to be disturbed due to other scopes of this project? REFER TO

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PLAN GENERAL NOTES, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PLAN,

SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.

6. Is there a hazardous material survey for this project? YES.

7. Are there offsite storage areas available if the rooms planned cannot hold all of the staged furniture? NO.

8. How will abatement of the floor tile be able to be performed in the rooms that will be occupied

100% of the time? REFER TO DEMOLITION PLAN & NOTES ON DRAWING SHEET #I-001 AND

HAZARDOUS MATERIAL PLAN & NOTES DRAWING SHEET #G-3 AS WELL AS SPECIFICATIONS.

9. Shaw carpet tiles are specified and will you accept equals to the carpets. I’m a rep with a mill and we would like you to consider our carpet products. Please let me know what I need to do- SPECIFIED

CARPET IS BASIS OF DESIGN OR APPROVED EQUAL. SUBMIT EQUAL FOR APPROVAL FOLLOWING

CONTRACT DOCUMENTATION GUIDELINES/PROCEDURES.

The following two questions were submitted via email from PK dated 8/3/2011.

10. (Email Question #9.) Are there any coatings in the facility that are known to contain lead? REFER TO CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SPECIFICATION SECTION 02 09 00 (REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF LEAD

CONTAINING MATERIALS INCLUDING LEAD BASED PAINT)/ PARAGRAPH 1.05.10.

11. (Email Question #10.)If no survey is available, are we to test the areas ourselves for the presence of lead paint? REFER TO CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SPECIFICATION SECTION 02 09 00 (REMOVAL AND

DISPOSAL OF LEAD CONTAINING MATERIALS INCLUDING LEAD BASED PAINT).
