FA8505-13-R-31129

Q&A #3: 3 Jun 13

Questions:

1. Section 5.0 (on page 44) of the Specification document is incomplete; please advise.

2. What are the outside dimensions including depth?

3. Is there any potential for growth on the 8 lb weight limit?

4. Is cooling air provided from the aircraft?

5. Are there any provisions for mounting in the rear of the assembly?

6. Can you provide any information on future growth of the system requirements?

7. Does the Ethernet have a function or is it for future growth?

8. At the bottom of page 38 (of 43) of Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial document (FA850513r31129.pdf) item #5 references a legend which must appear at the bottom of each sheet of our proposal. However the legend verbiage is not on that page or the page after—can you provide?

9. Is the Solicitation/Contract/Order for commercial document (FA850513r31129.pdf) the only place you want pricing details? Or do you want us to include the pricing separately in Volume 1 of the RFP? If so, is there a specific format that you would like the pricing in?

10. For a US company applying for this bid, how much of the work must be done in the US?

Answers:

1. Disregard the partial section 5.0 of the Specification.

2. See paragraph 3.2.1 in the Specification.

3. No.

4. Not directly. The display will be mounted in the cockpit, which is conditioned for human occupancy.

5. The current instrument panel design allows for multiple mounting schemes; the wedges that provide the cant will be finalized after the display is chosen to accommodate the production mounting. If the proposed display also includes a design for the wedges that allows rear mounting, it would meet the requirement.

6. All future growth provisions have been included in the Specification.

7. As described in paragraph 3.2.4 of the Specification, the Ethernet interface will be used to communicate with the CIU and possibly to pass GigEVision video to/from the DVR. It must function.

8. The verbiage is on page 39 of the document:

SOURCE SELECTION INFORMATION--SEE FAR 2.101 and 3.10

FOR OFFICIAL USE

9. Annotate the pricing within the RFP itself by putting the pricing in the CLINS.

10. Reference FAR 52.219-6(d)- A small business concern submitting an offer in its own name shall furnish, in performing the contract, only end items manufactured or produced by small business concerns in the United States or its outlying areas.
