F-35 IN LINE CHILLER AND AUTO WINDING HOSE REELS

Questions and Answers #3

16 JANUARY 2019

1- What is the dry weight per foot of the hoses?

Answer 1a: High Pressure H5000D hose type; -16

1.16 lb/ft

Answer 1a: Low Pressure Return line H1D type; -20

0.81 lb/ft

There are two sets of hoses (A & B set). Each set has a High pressure and Low pressure return line.

High pressure hose H5000D; -16 Low Pressure Return line H1D type; -20

2- What is the minimum bend radius of the hoses?

Answer 2a: High Pressure Supply Hose H125 A & B H5000D hose type; -16 Working pressure 5100 psi;

5.9" min. bend radius

Answer 2b: Return Hose H128A & B HOSE- T1D hose type; -20 Working pressure 945 psi 16.5" min. bend radius

3- What end fittings will be on the hoses?

Answer 3a: Pressure Line JIC 37 degree flare swivel crimp fitting -16 on one end JIC 37 degree flare swivel crimp fitting -12 on other end steel fitting

Answer 3b: Return Line JIC 37 degree flare swivel crimp fitting size -20 on one end JIC 37 degree flare swivel crimp fitting size -16 on one end steel fitting

4- What are the internal diameter of the hoses?

Answer 4a: Pressure Line 1" nominal hose ID

Answer 4b: Return Line 1-1/4" nominal hose ID

5- Will there be any significantly heavy nozzles or valves attached to the end of the hoses and if yes how heavy?

Answer 5: (Hydraulic hose) no heavy nozzles or valves attached to the end of the hose.

6- What is the estimated distance from the new MIC units output to the aircraft. ( how many feet of output PC Air flexible ducting hose is required?)

Answer 6: HAFB has the Flexible hoses that connects from the OCC to the Aircraft. The same hoses will be used to connect to the new MIC. The new MIC air outlet needs to have the same connector as the current OCC (located near ground level) so the flexible hose can connect to it.

7- What type of connection is needed from the output side of the new MIC for the output ducting hose? Can it be permanently secured to the output of the MIC or do you need a type of removable coupler?

Answer 7: The MIC output connector will need to match the current OCC output connector.

The current flexible conduit used to connect to the OCC output to the aircraft will be used to connect to the new MIC output to the aircraft. See SOW section 3.1.6 The contractor must provide the MIC with the required connector. See appendix F

8- What is the maximum temperature needed at the point of use (aircraft)?

Answer 8: Temperature shown in Table 1 (section 3.6.6) of the SOW. Measured at point of use.

(Point of use is the aircraft…. current flexible hose end that connects to the Aircraft)

9- The air supplying the MIC, What is the PSI pressure entering into the MIC?

Answer 9: SOW section 3.1.11 and 3.2.14 and

10- Can you move out the bid date til we get answers to these questions?
