Questions with Responses (7)

Listed below are questions submitted by Potential Offerors and the applicable Government Response.

7. Contractor Question:

We have been getting quotes for boxes. The inner box spec says 4 ¾” square. We have asked for quotes from three different companies and have found that 5” square box is a standard. If we go with custom it will be double the cost that we will need to add into the piece price. Can we use standard size and use additional packing to make sure parts are secure?

Government Response:

A 5” square box will be sufficient. If offerors are planning to use a 5” square inner box instead of the 4 ¾” square inner box, a Request for Variance (RFV) or Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) should be submitted as part of the offerors proposal.

As a reference, blank copies of the RFV and ECP forms have been attached to FedBizOpps.
