About this file

This document provides detailed tree planting specifications for the WWYK240016 Renovate Security for IWTP project at Tinker Air Force Base. The specifications outline precise requirements for tree selection, sizing, and planting techniques, including an approved list of tree species such as Red oak, Cedar elm, American sycamore, Kentucky coffee tree, Bald cypress, and Eastern red cedar. Trees must be 3/4" to 1" caliper, and planting requirements include using a single T-post on the south side of each tree, installing 20-gallon irrigation bags, and following specific planting guidelines like creating a planting pit three times the size of the root ball, using original soil for backfill, and ensuring proper tree guard placement.

The accompanying diagrams provide additional detailed instructions for tree planting/staking and root zone protection, including requirements for mulching, creating a proper saucer around the tree, positioning the tree at the correct grade, and establishing barrier fencing 10 feet beyond the tree's drip line. Specific technical notes cover aspects like root ball handling, breaking up root ball soil, avoiding trunk wrapping, and positioning tree guards flush with the ground. These comprehensive specifications ensure standardized and precise tree installation for the security renovation project at the air force base.
