QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE

1 Is online training an acceptable method of didactic training?

No. The Government is looking for face to face instruction in a classroom setting.

2 Is a mobile training unit acceptable to be brought on base and used for psychomotor skills training?

The Government would accept a mobile tarining unit, but the use of the unit would need to be explained in the technical capability proposal. The contractor will need to have the capacity in San Antonio to bring and utilize the mobile training unit. The Government is unable to provide any space for the utilization of the mobile training unit.

3 There is a concern with meeting the 50% ALS call rate with a large urban EMS system.

The Government has revised the ALS call rate % from 50% to 35%.

4 There is a concern with the 150 day time limit for students. If we can get a copy of the Air Force Training Curriculum for these student MOS (Syllabus and Knowledge Objectives or equivalent) we may be able to streamline the course. Even with the potential waving of portions of the course, we are concerned that the compacted time frame may not be conducive to learning and retention.

The Government is not willing to increase the 150 day time limit allowed for training.

The Government will accept a 6-day work week to provide the necessary training required in the 150 day training. It should be noted that all students are Nationally Registered EMTs with between 4-12 years of experience in a variety of clinical settings.
