AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE CONTRACTORS

This instruction applies to the 374th Maintenance Group (374 MXG), 374th Civil Engineer Squadron (374 CES), 374th Logistics Readiness Squadron (374 LRS) and 374th Aerospace Medicine Squadron (374 AMDS). It establishes procedures for providing chemical warfare gear support to Yokota aircraft maintenance contractors. It defines roles and responsibilities for applicable support organizations to equip and train aircraft maintenance contractors. It also implements AFI 10-2501, Air Force Emergency Man-agement (EM) Program Planning and Operations, AFMAN 32-4006, Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Mask Fit and Liquid Hazard Simulant Training, AFJI 44-117, Ophthalmic Services, PACAFI 23-204, Deployment Bag Management, and PACAFI 23-204_374 AWSUP 1. Ensure that all records cre-ated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with (IAW) AFMAN 37-123 (will convert to AFMAN 33-363), Management of Records, and disposed of IAW the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) located at https://afrims.amc.af.mil/. Refer recom-mended changes and questions about this publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) using the AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Form 847 from the field through the appropriate functional’s chain of command.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

Deletes responsibility of 374th Maintenance Operations Squadron (374 MOS). Adds responsibility of 374 MXG Quality Assurance Evaluators. A margin bar ( | ) indicates newly revised material.

1. General. This instruction provides guidance to the 374th Airlift Wing (374 AW) support organizations for equipping and training aircraft maintenance contractors with chemical warfare protective equipment.

Aircraft maintenance contractors may be required to support real-world contingencies and participate in command or unit exercises IAW their respective maintenance contracts. They must be trained and equipped IAW their respective contracts.

2.1. 374 AMDS Optometry Flight:

2.1.1. Perform eye examinations on aircraft maintenance contractors to establish individual requirements for protective mask spectacle inserts.

2.1.2. Issue protective mask spectacle inserts to aircraft maintenance contractors.

2.2. 374 AMDS Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight. Accomplish NBC mask quantitative fit train-ing (QNFT) for aircraft maintenance contractors, to include proper wear of protective mask IAW applicable instructions.

2.3. 374 LRS War Readiness Section. Issue required chemical warfare defense equipment (CWDE) to emergency essential aircraft maintenance contractors, to include A-1, C-1, protective mask and train-ing gear IAW applicable instructions.

2.4. 374 CES Readiness Flight. Train aircraft maintenance contractors in the proper use and mainte-nance of CWDE IAW applicable instructions.

2.5. 374 MXG Quality Assurance Evaluators:

2.5.1. Ensure currency and accuracy of contract statement of work (SOW) requirements.

2.5.2. Ensure contractors establish processes and procedures to ensure all required personnel are trained and maintain equipment IAW local guidance and the SOW.
