The sample shall be taken during normal business hours for Dobbins ARB, as previous defined. If a qualifying event does not occur, the Contractor shall provide a Letter of Report stating that sampling could not be performed, which shall be supported by NWS records for the quarter.
2.4.1.1 Four sampling events will be required to satisfy the storm water sampling requirements. The Contractor shall monitor NWS reports during rainfall events in the Dobbins ARB area to determine if a qualifying rainfall is occurring or likely to occur. This is a determining criterion for mobilization to sample storm water outfalls. The Contractor shall coordinate with CEV to gain access to all sampling locations.
2.4.1.2 Field activities for the storm-water sampling event shall include visual monitoring of the outfalls for foam and/or discoloration, collection of field parameters (i.e., pH), and sample collection. Grab samples shall be obtained from each of the nine (9) outfalls. Sampling shall be conducted during qualifying rainfall events that generate runoff that continues during normal business hours. All nine outfalls will be sampled during the qualifying event in a manner that ensures analytical holding times are met for ALL parameters sampled. The Contractor shall attempt to have the same individuals conduct the visual monitoring and sampling throughout the term of this contract to ensure the greatest degree of consistency possible when recording observations. Storm water samples shall require the following analysis:
• Biochemical Oxygen Demand (mg/L)
• Chemical Oxygen Demand (mg/L)
• Total Oxygen Demand (mg/L)
• Fecal Coliform (geometric mean of colonies per 100 ml)
• Total Copper (mg/L)
• Total Lead (mg/L)
• Total Zinc (mg/L)
• Total Cadmium (mg/L)
