About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) for a telecommunications cabling project issued by the 910th CONF/PK unit of the US Air Force. The document contains questions and answers about a cable installation project, with key details including cable specifications, installation methods, and site characteristics. The project involves Category 6 (CAT6) cabling, with blue cables and orange RJ45 jacks, and will involve approximately 44 surface-mounted drops due to concrete barriers, while most drops will be routed inside walls. Ceiling heights vary from 8-12 feet in rooms, with some areas reaching up to 15 feet high. The RFI clarifies that existing floor plans showing Cat 3, Navy, Afnet, Coaxial, and Afnet Phone cabling are for reference only, and no NIST SP 800-171 assessment is required. Potential vendors must submit any questions by 10:00 AM Eastern on Friday, 5 September 2025, to the specified contact at joseph.perry.14@us.af.mil.
