About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document from a Request for Information (RFI) process for federal contract solicitation FA664826Q0010-RI, issued by the Department of the Air Force Reserve Command for Medical Biohazard Waste Removal Services at Homestead Air Reserve Base. The RFI was issued as Amendment 0002 to close the information request period and consolidate all vendor questions and government responses. The requirement is a 100% Competitive Small Business Set Aside under NAICS code 562112 (Hazardous Waste Collection) with a $47 million size standard, issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under RFO Part 12 for commercial products and services.

Key service requirements include: monthly routine biomedical waste collection and removal of four 30-gallon containers (total capacity not to exceed 96 gallons, weighing 50-96 pounds) once per month, with an estimated six additional emergency pickups per contract year to be completed within 48 hours of notification. The contractor must furnish new 30-gallon containers after each monthly pickup. The prime contractor must maintain a current Florida Department of Health Biomedical Waste Transporter Registration and cannot rely on a subcontractor's permits or licenses. No controlled substances, hazardous pharmaceuticals, chemotherapy waste, or other special waste streams are anticipated. The contractor must comply with all Homestead ARB security and force protection requirements, complete required background screening and installation access procedures, and operate a state-licensed vehicle properly marked and placarded per federal and state regulations. This is a new contract requirement with no incumbent. All RFI questions were answered between September 10-11, 2026, with responses provided by Contracting Officer Nika Salemi and MDS representatives.
