About this file

This document contains a request for information report related to contract FA6606-22-B-0001 for maintaining pavement markings at a military base. The contractor submitted questions regarding allowable methods for removing existing markings, disposal of wastewater, and details on several bid items. The contracting officer representative provided responses indicating contractors may dispose of wastewater on surrounding grass if local requirements are met, and covered specifications and standard details for the undefined bid items related to entry control points, fuel pits, parking stop bars, equipment boxes, and static ground points. Site visits were held to allow measurements and pictures, and additional escorts are available prior to the March 9 bid opening.

Question 7:

Response:

Maintain Pavement Markings

Will the government allow the contractors the use of water to complete the removal of the existing markings or do they need to bring their own water?

During the cleaning and or removal process of existing markings there will be grey water to be disposed of. The units doing this process will separate the solids from the grey water to allow for only grey water to be disposed of with no hazardous materials. Will the government have and allow the subcontractor to dispose of this grey water on site in an existing oil water separator basin or does the contractor need to figure to dispose off site?

Please read specification 32-01 11 52, section 7.2 Based on equipment specifications and the ability to separate particulates out, the contractor may dispose of waste water onto surrounding grass areas provided all local, state and federal requirements have been met.

Please read specification 32-01 11 52, section 3.4.2
