About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the supply, delivery, removal, and installation of bedroom furniture for 144 dormitory rooms at Aviano Air Base, Italy.

The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, parts, and transportation to remove and dispose of current furniture in accordance with local law and regulations, and to install and assemble eight types of new solid hardwood furniture items. Required furniture includes four-drawer under-bed storage units with low-profile wheels, three-drawer chests, three-shelf bookcases (mounted to chests), three-drawer nightstands, one-drawer desks with full-width drawers, two-position upholstered chairs, slat beds on metal legs, and fireproof mattresses. All items must be fabricated from hardwoods such as Oak, Beech, Ash, or Maple in Cherry color. Softwoods, fiberboard, particleboard, MDF, and certain plywood components are prohibited. Exterior and exposed interior surfaces must be solid hardwood or hardwood veneer; lamination planks must measure between 19mm (3/4") and 100mm (4") in width; edges require minimum 2mm ABS plastic; drawer handles must be metal. Tolerance of ±1 inch/2.5cm is acceptable only for commercial products already on the market, provided functionality is not reduced. Contractor must submit detailed drawings with dimensions and capacities prior to fabrication.

Installation will occur at Building 1428 Dormitory during regular working hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 17:00, with all necessary tools and materials provided by the contractor. The contractor must secure a contractor pass and coordinate with facility management. Removal of old furniture and installation of new furniture must occur on the same day. Items will be delivered in sets for maximum efficiency, with room-by-room inspection upon completion. Total delivery and installation must be completed between 90-120 working days from receipt of order (excluding mandated US and family days for FY2026 and FY2027), with installation completed within six weeks. Coordination with the designated point of contact is required one week prior to beginning dismantling work. The contractor must provide lifting means capable of reaching the European second floor, as the facility's public elevator is weight-limited and subject to service outages. Dorm Management will provide hard and soft surface space for two mobile dumpster containers. Commercial manufacturer warranty terms must be submitted in a separate document detailing covered items, warranty length, and procedures for repair or replacement.
