QUESTIONS

1) QUESTION:

Product Description passage: "wiring within the walls and/or ceilings to ensure system capacity with the new reader,". It is necessary for us to have the CAD drawings of the structure. This will allow us to calculate the amount of cable required between the door, where the reader will be installed, and the nearest LAN access point. Alternatively, please specify in your request the required meters of UTP Cat. 5e cable.

ANSWER: I estimate each door will require between 4 and 6 feet of cable to connect the actual electrified door hardware with the keypad and then to the control module (space provided above the doors with access panels). I’ve attached a map of the facility that includes the doors identified for ACS system installation, identified with yellow arrows.

2) QUESTION:

We need to know the number of workstations that need to be offered and whether we should include the supply of MIFARE 13.56 MHz badges for users. If so, please specify the quantity required.

ANSWER: We require one central workstation, identified in the attached map via a yellow square. It will be located within IDS protected space, final location within that space is somewhat flexible pending coordination between chosen vendor and users of the space. We do not require specifically MIFARE 13.56 MHz hardware, though do require the supply of badges for initial set-up of the system and for some period of sustainment, on the order of 200 supplied badges.

3) QUESTION:

Could you please provide the number of PINs that the system needs to manage?

ANSWER: System is required to be capable of supporting 200 pins/credentialed users. Additional system should allow for the unit to gain credential space back by the system once a departing user has been deleted.
