QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Q: In case of major repairs required - with the need of a design; will the design (stamped by enrolled engineer) be part of the contract or not ?

The Ministerial Decree 37/2008 tells that after "some cases of installation and maintenance" a Declaration of Conformity MUST be released. Per these cases: Nuovo Impianto = New system(s) installation (*) Trasformazione = System(s) transformation (*) Ampliamento = System(s) Upgrade/Enlargement (*) Manutenzione Straordinaria = Extraordinary Maintenance, (*) DM 37/2008 requires the Design by an enrolled engineer; in fact, the document "Declaration of Conformity" requires the engineers' data, to be included into the named document.Present the situation of TRANSFORMATION of existing systems, as usually happen, the question is “In case KTR "fall into" some of this cases: New system(s) installation, System(s) transformation, System(s) Upgrade/Enlargement, Does the bidder need to consider the cost for an Enrolled Engineer to sign/stamp the dedicated design ?

A: No, the design (stamped by enrolled engineer) will not be part of the contract

2. Q: Repair Materials: Are the materials required for repairs and updates, such as smoke detectors, manual push buttons, optical plates, control panels, and aspiration units, included in the offer, or will they be accounted for as additional contractual costs?

1.2.1.1) requirements of the applicable standards.[…]”.

Appendix C “[…] is a sample version of the common Mandatory ITM Service and Frequency requirements based on listed standards (UNI, EN, NFPA and UFC) […]”, and its purpose is only to provide a base on which the contractor will develop the tasks’ frequencies of the mandatory services to be performed.
