RENOVATION OF BLDG 7300 FOR 56TH SQUADRON
AREA F, AVIANO AB, AVIANO (PN) ITALY
ADDENDUM #1
A1 Antenna the item consists of furnishing and installation of three antenna’s masts including boxes, protections, cable duct and safety systems. The item includes A1.1 Mast (UHF/VHF antenna (Figure F) above the SATCOM antenna) design for furnishing and installation of a support that is able to stand high winds and adverse weather conditions in heavy galvanized steel must extend above the roof by a minimum of 3 feet or 1 meter; mounting options include a single mast (Figure C), a mast with a cross bar (Figure D), multiple masts, small roof platform (Figure E), or suitable solution. If two smaller masts are mounted instead of one they must be separated by a minimum of 3 feet or 1 meter.
A1.2 Lightning protection for antennas: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, transportation and supervision to: Design LPS Design LPS IAW latest edition of EN 62305- 1~4, D. Lgs. 81/08, DM 37/08, CEI EN 64-8, NFPA 780 and UFC 3-575-01. Design shall include risk assessment evaluation, drawings, schematics of the instrument to perform both the installation and its initial and periodical test Design package shall have to be signed and stamped by qualified host nation Electrical Engineer. The installation of the LPS and SPD's IAW the above design package. The installation shall be provided with “Dichiarazione di Conformità” [Declaration of Conformity] in accordance with D.M. 37/08.
A1.3 Panel Entry Box (PEB) with minimum dimensions of 35x35x25 (14”H x 14”W x 10”D (inches)) see Attachment 1 as an example. The edge of the box closer to the antenna mast will be a minimum of 1.80 m (6ft) away from the center of the antenna mast/mount to ensure a smooth bend of HELIAX cables. Surge protection inside a panel entry box (PEB) with polyphasers. Install a grounding bar/plate that can house surge arrestors for the coaxial cables.
Must have a three-point test measuring 10 Ohms or less
A1.4 Internal cable duct 4 inch of diameter galvanized steel pipes, about 25 m long, including supports, bends, drillings, thermal expanding bags and repairs. Conduit run from the PEB to the junction box (Blue). This conduit shall be located at a minimum 14ft from the ground (6ft above false ceiling). The conduit will be a minimum of 4” ID with 90 degree bends.
A1.5 Cables installation four (4) RG-213 cables from the grounding plate in the PEB to the internal box. Ensure that there are 12ft of additional cable leaving the junction box. US Gov’t will install the HELIAX cable to the grounding bar/plate;
A1.6 Internal Box – Junction box to connect the conduit from the PEB. Minimum dimensions shall be 60x45x30 cm (24”H x 18”W x 12”D). Does not have to be weather proof. This box will be located 2ft above the false ceiling – see Attachment;
A1.7 False ceiling removal and re-installation of false ceiling;
A1.8 Aerial Platform: rental of cherry picker;
finally it includes all the consuming materials, download, transportation to an authorized dump and payment of the fees of the waste materials and any other burden to have a job performed in work man like manner.

Objectives/Notes:
• The blue circle in Figure A denotes the general area where the structures shall be mounted.
• Figure B shows the static wall on the side of the building, where the apex of the roof is - this is also a potential area for mounting.
• The antennas must extend above the roof by a minimum of 3 feet or 1 meter.
• This will allow for the 31 CS to mount the antennas.
• Mounting options include a single mast (Figure C), a mast with a cross bar (Figure D), multiple masts, small roof platform (Figure E), or suitable solution.
• If two smaller masts are mounted instead of one they must be separated by a minimum of 3 feet or 1 meter.
• LPS must cover all antennas.
• The 31 CS will mount the UHF/VHF antenna (Figure F) above the SATCOM antenna (Figure G) if located on the same mast.
A. Requirement:
• Antenna mounting capability for 3 antennas on Southwest exterior of Building 7300
• Surge protection inside a panel entry box (PEB) with polyphasers
• Cable path conduit from PEB to inside building 7300, room 042
• Lightning Protection System (LPS) for the antennas

1. Orange Box – Panel Entry Box (PEB) with minimum dimensions of 14”H x 14”W x 10”D (inches) – see Attachment 1 as an example. The edge of the box closer to the antenna mast will be a minimum of 6ft away from the center of the antenna mast/mount to ensure a smooth bend of Heliax cables.
2. Orange Line – Conduit run from the PEB to the junction box (Blue). This conduit shall be located at a minimum 14ft from the ground (6ft above false ceiling). The conduit will be a minimum of 4” ID with 90 degree bends.
3. Blue Box – Junction box to connect the conduit from the PEB. Minimum dimensions shall be 24”H x 18”W x 12”D. Does not have to be weather proof. This box will be located 2ft above the false ceiling – see Attachment 2.
4. Cables – Install four (4) RG-213 cables from the grounding plate in the orange box to the blue box. Ensure that there are 12ft of additional cable leaving the blue box. US Gov’t will install the Heliax cable to the grounding bar/plate.
5. Antenna mast – Propose/design a solution to mount the antenna mast. Can be mounted to the building or on the static wall next to the building. Mast and brackets must be contractor furnished equipment (CFE).
6. Grounding – Install a grounding bar/plate that can house surge arrestors for the coaxial cables. Must have a three-point test measuring 10 Ohms or less.
7. LPS – Install an LPS on the antenna mast, bring it to ground.

Referring to the previous slide (the building 7300 blueprint), this picture reflects the radio operations center, Room 042. The cable should be run from the blue junction box 5 Meters (15 feet) along the upper corner of the ceiling. This will ensure enough slack to properly install the radios. The blue lines encompassing the black cable represents a Panduit (or suitable substitute).
