The contract opportunity is for the 48th Fighter Wing of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa to procure 200 linear meters (656 feet) of portable jet blast barriers. The barriers must be designed to withstand wind speeds up to 100 mph and be between 22-29.5 feet in height. They will be constructed of hot-dipped galvanized steel and installed on concrete bases that allow for forklift portability. The siting for the placement of the barriers has been approved, with one section on soil and the other on a rabbit run road. The contractor is responsible for supplying their own equipment, including a forklift, and welfare facilities for the 4-6 personnel installing the barriers. No security clearance beyond a base access pass is required. There is no inspection period prior to installation.
