1. What are the SSSI locations within the 8 mile demarcation from the airfield? Can you provide a map to reference these locations?
A) Any water/lake with in the 8mile radius which equals 177 units
2. Can you provide the Fairford BASH Management Plan?
A) Already Provided on SAM.Gov.
3. How frequently were contingency and deployment hours invoked in the past? What predictions can be made about the future?
A) Any hours outside of normal duty hours will be considered ‘Out of hours support’. (See Appendix
C of PWS)
4. Can you provide data on the Bird Watch Conditions for previous years? How many bird strike incidents occurred during the same period? Were the criteria the same as indicated in the proposed PWS? If not why?
A) No data available
5. Can you provide bird monitoring data for the periods questioned above?
A) Phase II Per BASH Plan – Following plan in PWS
6. Are you currently utilizing any falconry-based techniques currently or in the past and to what effect? When were they employed?
A) We are unable to disclose the techniques being utilized by the current contractor. For methods of performance see section 1.2 of PWS
7. Please provide a listing of those whom presented or escorted during our site visit. Please include their names, agency/entity, role, phone number and email address.

8. Can you provide an electronic scalable rendering of the service and monitoring area?
A) Not available
9. Can you provide basic information with regards to the footprint of the site including: acreage, length of runway, number SSSI areas, and structures to be monitored.

10. Are there any position documents or correspondence stating Natural England’s policies governing the operation needed to be shared? If so, can you provide them. Has USAFE issued any responses that effect the service area? If so can you provide those as well.
A) To our knowledge HQ USAFE/SEF has not issued a formal response to Natural England
11. Are there any prohibitions or policy for the use of pyrotechnics on the airfield? If so, what are they?
A) See Fairford BASH Management Plan, Annex C, Para 3a(2)(b) and (c), page 21; AFI92-212, Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) Management Program and Section 1.2 of the PWS for this contract
12. What percentage of time is the airfield tower in service during the last 5 years? Per year?
